Welcome To The Blinking Owl
A warm welcome awaits you at The Blinking Owl – a characterful 17th century country inn located in the picturesque village of North Newington, Oxfordshire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Constructed in 1645 from locally-quarried Hornton Stone, the historic building retains much of its olde worlde charm and original features, including beamed bar and open log fires.
The characterful English inn serves a selection of traditional ales and fine wines, with a cosy adjoining dining area offering a variety of fayre, from bar snacks to three-course meals. The premises also has a patio area and private courtyard car park.
Sitting adjacent to the main bar, a converted barn offers three cosy, well-appointed en-suite guest rooms, above a charming restaurant where breakfast is served. The 30-seater restaurant is also available for parties and conference use.
North Newington is located two miles from the market town of Banbury, around 20 miles from Oxford and 20 miles from Stratford upon Avon, making The Blinking Owl ideally situated for touring the Cotswolds and Shakespeare country.
Having celebrated 30 years at The Blinking Owl in December 2013, proprietors David and Sylvia Pursey are proud to welcome guests – both old and new – to their country inn, and wish you a warm and enjoyable stay.
